Region and character progression: what carries over, what doesn't

You pick a region when you create a character, and that choice binds the character to it. Your inventory and Tech Tree belong to that character — not to your account. Blueprints are the one thing that crosses over.

The publisher states

A character is bound to a region chosen at creation. Inventory and the Tech Tree are tied to the character, and the character is tied to theregion. Blueprints from the Trampler Editor areshared across characters.

Confirmed on a first-party surface — the developer’s Steam announcements or the publisher’s support site.

The binding chain, in order

Region → character → inventory and Tech Tree. Each level contains the one after it. So a second character in a different region starts from nothing in terms of stored gear and unlocked tech, no matter how far the first one got.

Blueprints sit outside that chain. Designs you make in the Trampler Editor follow you to any character. That asymmetry is the most counterintuitive officially confirmed fact we found about progression: your designs are account-level, your stuff is not.

Why this catches people out

The region choice happens at character creation, before you know what it governs, and nothing in the flow signals that it is a long-term commitment rather than a server preference. Players who later want to play with friends in another region discover that "just make a character over there" means restarting inventory and Tech Tree progress.

There is a practical consequence for anti-cheat too: the publisher recommends playing your closest region, because network desync is one of the documented causes of being kicked for suspicious activity. Picking a distant region for social reasons has a technical cost — see the anti-cheat page.

Before you create your first character

What we cannot tell you

Whether a character or region can be changed after creation, and what happens to a character you abandon. The publisher documents the binding but not the exit. There is a support article on lost or deleted characters, which suggests recovery cases are handled individually rather than by a stated rule — so if you are stuck, that is a support ticket rather than something we can answer here.
