Can you capture Tramplers right now?
Yes. Capture came back on 2026-08-03 in Update #6, after being disabled for three weeks. A lot of guides and videos were written during that window and still say it is switched off.

Trampler capture is active. The ownership device is no longer destroyed along with the Captain's compartment, so a Trampler can be captured even when that compartment has been wrecked. The developer has also said theydo not plan to deactivate capture again.

Why it was off, and why that matters now
A hotfix on 2026-07-12 disabled capture as a temporary anti-cheat measure against no-clip and teleport exploits. The developer explained the reasoning in a mission update on 2026-07-31 and committed to bringing it back rather than leaving it off. Update #6 delivered that on 2026-08-03.
The practical consequence is a three-week hole in the guide record. Anything published between 2026-07-12 and 2026-08-03 describing capture as unavailable was correct when written and is wrong now. The rule change people miss
Before Update #6, destroying the Captain's compartment took the ownership device with it. Now it does not. If your working assumption is “wreck the captain's compartment and the hull is unclaimable”, that assumption is out of date, in both directions: it changes how you take a Trampler and how you defend one.
The step-by-step procedure
The developer has confirmed that capture works and under what conditions, but has never published the actual button-by-button procedure on any official surface.
We are not going to invent it. We do not play the game ourselves, so anything we wrote here would be second-hand at best, and capture mechanics changed as recently as the update that re-enabled them. What we can tell you is exactly what is officially established: capture is on, it survives Captain's-compartment destruction, and it is not scheduled to be switched off again.
If you have captured a Trampler since 2026-08-03 and want to write the procedure up, we will credit and date it. That is a real gap and we would rather fill it properly than fill it fast.
